What are the future marketing leaders of Pakistan interested in? That is a very good question. But it is likely social business – not social media – is going to play a significant role in their sphere of interests.

My presentation at IBA Karachi titled “social fool or social cool” was a concoction of some of the areas marketers need to consider when evaluating the potential of a social media presence. But the talk also discussed key tactical points for achieving good results in social media, something which more than 90% of businesses do not accomplish.

Interacting with students of marketing and business is always interesting.

The few Pakistani students I had a chance to interact with were clearly smart and marketing savvy. One student entrepreneur especially impressed me. She had established an online shop selling handbags of her own design and production. Although I have forgotten her name, I am sure that her future will be very bright.
